The race headquarters and start is at the Mid-Suffolk Leisure Centre in Stowmarket. Click here for a street map of the area. Travel Directions from Ipswich - From Ipswich take the A14 towards Bury St Edmunds. Take the 1st exit marked for Stowmarket on the A1120, and turn left at the roundabout. Continue straight over the next roundabout and down the hill on the dual-carriage way. Taking the right-hand lane turn right at the bottom of the hill. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit along Gipping Way and continue until the traffic lights (with VW Barnards car showroom on your right). Turn left here, and continue straight over the next set of traffic lights. After about 400m turn right onto Onehouse Road, then third right to the leisure centre. Travel Directions from Bury St Edmunds - From the A14 take the first exit marked for Stowmarket on the A1302. At the roundabout turn right and take the next left up Chilton Way. At the end of this road turn left down Onehouse Road and then next left into Gainsborough Road and the Leisure Centre. Car parking is available at the Leisure Centre. Please do not park on the road.
Changing, toilets and showers are available at the Leisure Centre. The leisure centre offers additional facilities such as a bar and café, and for those more energetic - a swimming pool (additional fee payable at reception). We hope to have two masseurs available after the race to ease those miles out of your legs! They will be Maria Reynolds and Phil Rampley who are independent of the race organisation.
There are no long walks to the start of the race, being very close to the leisure centre. The police have requested that all runners keep to the left hand side of the road unless told otherwise. The Red Cross will be present for those requiring medical attention. If you see anyone in distress during the race, please advise a race marshal as soon as possible to call for medical assistance. A copy of the risk assessment will be available on the race notice board.
We will endeavour to display as many of the results as possible on the race notice board as competitors complete the race, and after the race. Full results will be available from this website (www.stowmarketstriders.org.uk) in the week following the race. A postal results service may also be available. Previous years results:-
