------------------------------------------------------

The sun braved its face during the race despite the torrential down pour shortly
before the start.

Colin Pitts won an excellent second place for the club which is pretty impressive
as he ran so fast that he beat the Marshall on the motorbike, supposedly showing
the runners where to run.  Whilst in the lead he ran the wrong way.  The Marshall
caught him up in time to bring him back to the correct course but Colin had lost
his lead.  At this point I would just like to tell you about the excellent sportsman
manner of Richard Jordan from Ipswich Jaffa who slowed up to allow Colin to catch
up but unfortunately for Colin the damage was done.

A second well done to Tamara Jordan who also managed a second place for
Stowmarket Striders Senior Ladies.  Also to Anne Fish for breaking her previous
PB by around 10 minutes.  WELL DONE ANNE!  (ED - Keep up Grayhame).

Overall the runners found this as a tough but enjoyable undulating course, except for
the "hill at the 8 mile stage that felt like an 8 mile hill" quoted George!  A common feeling
amongst all the runners.  See, hill training does pay off!

There seems to be an anomaly as to the times.  Don't worry Ellen it didn't mean you did
an extra lap!  It would appear on checking some of these times to your own stopwatches
that a sheer freak in this space time continuum meant you all gained an extra 1-2 minutes
on your time.  Perhaps you were abducted by aliens - can't wait to see the next time results!
