Nowton Park – 10th September

The seven kilometer, off-road course around Nowton Park proved to be as challenging

as ever. It was an interesting course through woods, along small paths and across the

park itself. Much more interesting than two laps around the outside of the park, which

was the other, option that the organisers had. The scorching hot weather increased the

challenge but at least it was nice to see the Sun again.

Grayhame worked hard to get together two teams from the Striders, he worked tirelessly

to overcome last minute withdrawals and find willing replacements. He even asked me

to dress as a woman to run for the A Team. I was happy to dress as a woman but not

run in the A team.

A few additional comments from our Men's Team Captain

Congratulations and thank you to everyone turning out and representing the Club.

Thanks to Chris Gladwell sorting out the marshals and Richard Fellingham collecting

the money.  Particular thanks to Diane Heaney who at short notice ran for the ‘A’ Team

and had to cope with the pressure of running between Colin Pitts and Chris Ling.
