------------------------------------------------------
Everyone
arrived on the sunny and bright morning expecting a 4 - 5 mile cross
country,
but then we were told the bad news! The course had been changed
which meant our
gentle Sunday morning short run had suddenly been increased into a 10k!!
D'Oh!
We were not so keen...
However,
on reflection the course was enjoyable and fun. Up and down sandy
hills,
over logs and tyres, and weaving through trees. This was certainly a
multi-terrain race.
Sadly about a third of the way through we saw Gail drop out after pulling
something in
her leg, although she did try to carry on. Also we saw Nick pull out
too. As you can
see the Ladies came an impressive second - Ladies are definitely out
numbering the
men in the races as well as the training nights.
A
special note goes to our team captain who insists that these cross country
runs are
simply justifications for his doughnut fetish. He was caught with
sugar crusted lips
doing a Homer Simpson impression by stuffing a doughnut in his mouth as
others
were delicately nibbling on fresh fruit. When our team captain was
asked to explain
he answered "mmm, mmm, mm".
