By turning up to the Great Bentley 10m race, we successfully lured David Miller away from the Brandon 5m giving the majority of the Striders a chance.  I believe David won this comfortably but, although having tried my best, I wasn't fast enough to see him finish in under 54 minutes!

This was a good scenic fast race.  It was not until I past the 7 mile marker in 49.13 when I realised I stood a chance in getting under 1:10 (i.e. the magic 7 minute/mile barrier!).  Over the next 2 miles I pushed to claw back those few seconds I needed, going though the 9 mile marker in exactly 1:03.00!  It was all down to the last mile, and this was the most tiring.  Suffering from my little burst over the last two miles and feeling like lead, I sprinted for the line as the clock ticked closer to that 1:10 milestone...  and with a second to spare I crossed the line!  I did it and I'm proud!
