Journey and was it easy to find?

8

Turn left at Colchester and then right half way to Clacton ! Sign posted from main roads. About 35 miles from Stowmarket

Good pre-race information?

7

Saw entry forms in January but turned up on the day to run with a friend.

Changing facilities –

Changing rooms or the car park?

6

Men had a small changing room (for six at a time) with a double shower cubicle! Otherwise use the main hall in the Village Hall.

Time spent waiting for the toilet before the race

7

20 minute queue half an hour before the race.

Organisation & race HQ facilities

7

Race HQ – Village Hall. Cheap refreshments. Adidas foot scan from Sweatshop. Ten minute walk from car park on village green to race HQ. Presentations 2hrs, 10 min. after start

Course –

Fast & flat or slow, hilly & horrible

9

309 entrants, 260 finishers. David Miller won in 52.23. A lot of unaffiliated runners and no large numbers from any one club. Jaffa won team prize with runners in 17th, 19th & 34th places! Flat, fast, country roads, not a lot of traffic. Good one for a PB but a bit of a breeze that gave sub-zero wind chill!

Well marshalled? Enough water stops?

9

Loads of marshals with two-way radios, three water stops

Anything for the family to do while you enjoy yourself?

5

Train spotting at Gt Bentley station, a stroll around Gt Bentley village green (the biggest one in England ), spend money at the cake stall.

Memento

7

Chunky, engraved medal.

Cost

7

£7.00 (affiliated, on the day)
