Stowmarket Striders XC

At last a cross country race without any rain!... Now this is really a cross country and albeit a tough race, most runners came back with comments on how good this event is. "Best till last" they said. I guess this really means a BIG thank you to Jim King and the owners of the park for allowing us to use Haughley Park as a venue.

Individual Podium Results: Karen Goodwin came 3rd for the Ladies Open, Gail Sparkes 1st for Ladies 40, Linda Steward 1st for ladies 50 as is Anne Fellingham for the ladies 55 category. As for the men Chris Starmer came in 2nd for Men 40, as did Peter Tricker in Men's 50 and Jim King in the Men's 60 category. Lots of outstanding performances this year - well done!

Ben Naughton came in 19th, Edward Tricker finished 21st overall and achieved an impressive 2nd place for the under 13's series. Tom Naughton came in 44th.

A good result despite a lack of leading men at a number of the races, especially good for the outstanding performance of the ladies achieving 2nd from all the teams. Bury Pacers expectedly came 1st, Waveney & Bungay 2nd and Newmarket Joggers 3rd. Well done to all the teams concerned.
