Club Information

Since it was founded in 1986, Stowmarket Striders has grown into one of the top clubs in the county.  It has done this by welcoming runners of all abilities to the club and supporting them as they progress and develop.

Located at the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre in Stowmarket, the club has a formalised committee who meet on a monthly basis to organise the running and other affairs of the club including club races and social events.  This is to ensure the club is run with good practice and according to the athletic rules and regulations.

The club year starts on the 1st January with an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the last Monday in January.  At the AGM the membership subscription fee, agreed by the members, becomes due.  New members pay the subscription on completion of a membership form.

Being a member of the Stowmarket Striders offers runners a number of benefits, offering from sports shop discounts to running gear in the club colours (yellow and black) at very reasonable prices.  A quarterly newsletter is produced containing information on recent events, forthcoming races, training schedules, race results and reports.  Any contributions to the newsletter and website are very welcome.

Striders running the Joe Cox 10 (2004)During the summer months, we take the advantage of the lighter evenings and run members favourite training routes from their home.  This is our summer Thursday night guest runs.

Should you not have easy access to the world wide web, the club has two notice boards in the Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre.  Both have information about the club and news on forthcoming events.
