Being a friendly club, we welcome any runner to join us on our club nights. Over a few sessions you can see how we work and talk to our Coaches to see if we are the right club for you. All you have to do is simply turn up on the night and make yourself known to one of our Coaches who will look after you on your first couple of sessions.
If after a couple of sessions you decide you would like to join us then please read complete our online membership form below.
It's totally up to you if you want to attend club nights, not all our members attend regularly and some have alternative training arrangements. If you'd rather not attend club nights but would still like to be a member and receive the benefits of membership, then we are happy to accept your application.
Membership is renewable annually from the 1st April each year. Senior Membership is £30.00, Senior Second Claim Membership is £15.00. U17 and Junior Membership £17.00. If you join for the first time between 1st January and the 1st April in any given year then membership for that three month term up to 1st April is reduced to £10.00 but will exclude UK Athletics affliation until the new membership year commences on 1st April. If you wish to affliate during this time then full membership fees will apply, please email our membership secretary, Wendy Hughes, with your request - firstname.lastname@example.org
Supporting your Club
As part of the Membership criteria there is an 'expectation’ that each member will marshal, or nominate a marshal, for at least one Club organised race throughout the year. This will not be policed, nor mandatory, but operate on a goodwill basis.
U17 & Junior Members
U17 Membership is open to athletes aged 15 or 16 on the date of joining or date of renewal for existing members (1st April). Junior Membership is open to young runners between 9 and 14 years of age who may apply to join the Club on their 9th birthday. Young runners are welcome to 'try out' a couple of weeks before their 9th birthday to see if its for them at the discretion of the Junior Session Lead Coach on the night. Just turn up and make yourself known to the Coaches. More information on Junior Membership can be found on the Junior Striders pages.
