    THE RACE

    The Stowmarket Striders Scenic 7 is a relatively flat 7 mile course with only a couple of undulations. The course starts at Stowmarket Leisure Centre and heads out past Onehouse to Harleston and loops round and back to Harleston before returning along the same route past Onehouse and back to the finish.

    SUPPORTING THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION's 90 ANNIVERSARY

    Since this is remembrance Sunday, we would be grateful if you joined us in observing a 2 minutes silence at 11:00am to remember those that have given their lives for the freedom we enjoy today. The race will start at 11:02.

    poppy2011 is The Royal British Legion's 90th Anniversary and to honour this we will have some collection buckets so that we can collect donations to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. All procedes from our cake and refreshment sales will go to this collection too.

    Entry Details

    Online entries are now closed. Entries on the day will be accepted.

    Entries on the day will be accepted unless the entry limit of 500 has already been reached.

    Members of UKA affiliated Athletics Clubs £8 (£10 on the day)
    Non-Affiliated runners, £10 (£12 on the day)

    3rd male & female

    1st male for the categories Vets over 40, 45, 50, 55 & 60+
    1st female for the categories Vet over 40, 45, 50 & 55+

    Travel Directions from Ipswich:
    Please take this route as it avoids the town centre and Remembrance Day parades.
    From Ipswich take the A14 towards Bury St Edmunds. Take the 1st exit marked for Stowmarket on the A1120, and turn left at the roundabout. Continue straight over the next roundabout and down the hill on the dual-carriage way. Taking the right-hand lane turn right at the bottom of the hill. At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit along Gipping Way and carry on straight across the traffic lights (Barnards on the right). DO NOT turn left at the traffic lights. At the next roundabout take the second exit onto Bury Road. Pass the Vets and Football Club (on the right) and go straight on at the next roundabout. 50 metres after the roundabout turn left into Chilton Way. At the end of this road turn left into Onehouse Road and then next left into Gainsborough Road to the Leisure Centre.

    Travel Directions from Bury St Edmunds:
    Take the A14 towards Ipswich. Leave the A14 at Junction 39 (Signposted Stowmarket A1308, Haughley & Wetherden). At the roundabout at the top of the slip road take the exit marked A1308 Stowmarket. Follow this road for half a mile, under the A14 and at the roundabout turn right and take the next left into Chilton Way. At the end of this road turn left into Onehouse Road and then next left into Gainsborough Road to the Leisure Centre.

    Car parking is available at the Leisure Centre. Please do not park on the road.

    FACILITIES

    Changing, toilets and showers are available at the Leisure Centre. The leisure centre offers additional facilities such as a bar and cafe, and for those more energetic - a swimming pool (additional fee payable at reception).

    We hope to have masseurs available after the race to ease those 7 miles out of your legs! They are independent of the race organisation.

    USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

    Audio equipment with earphones seriously inhibits the user from hearing traffic approaching from behind and clearly hearing instructions from race marshals. The use of all such equipment is therefore not permitted during the race.
