Here is a summary of regular annual events that the
Striders Committee put together and hold on behalf of its membership.

Haughley Park, Bluebell Run
Traditionally, every Spring the club is invited to run through Haughley
Park on what is called 'The Bluebell Run'. It is a real treat to be able
to run through the woods in full bloom through a carpet of Bluebells.
We meet just inside the main entrance to Haughley Park and parking is
just over the cattle grid on the right hand side (where we meet for
cross country training). Everyone is welcome, it's a very social and
relaxed run in beautiful surrounds. A donation of £1 each towards
Haughley Park is requested.

A pre-London Marathon pasta party to wish all the Marathon runners good luck.
Summer BBQ
This is a fun family event, normally with a bouncy castle for those
younger ones amongst us. A wonderful social event where partners and
family can meet your club friends.
Christmas Party
We hold a Christmas Party every year for club members and their
partners, where London Marathon places are drawn, Striders of the Year
are awarded, Club Championship winners announced, Coaches awards are
given - and much more. We ask that you bring a plate of food. 2011 details on the Snippets page.
Additional events are held throughout the year. We are always open to
suggestions so if you have any ideas, please contact the social
secretary.
